Help For The Homeless

“If one of your brethren becomes poor, and falls into poverty among you, then you shall help him, like a stranger or a sojourner, that he may live with you.” – Leviticus 25:35

“He who oppresses the poor reproaches his Maker, but he who honors Him has mercy on the needy.”
– Proverbs 14:31

“He who has pity on the poor lends to the Lord, and He will pay back what he has given.”
– Proverbs 19:17

“Command those who are rich in this present age not to be haughty, nor to trust in uncertain riches but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy. Let them do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to give, willing to share, storing up for themselves a good foundation for the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.” – 1 Timothy 6:17-19

I remember back to my senior year in highschool, when we had to do a debate in debate class. I chose to do my debate on helping the homeless. My best friend said it's their fault that they are homeless, they can get jobs if they want to. I did not speak to her for hte rest of the day and she had to bring me flowers and chocolate to start talking to her again. It really hurt me to hear someone that I loved saying such hurtful thing about people who are in need. I don't understand how people can turn their head to someone in need. In my opinion, that is disgusting. Throughot The Bible, we are told to help those who are poor and needy. No where in The Bible, does it say cursed are those who are poor and needy. It tells us to help those in need.

Goal For Today: Even if it doesn't happen today, but sometime this week or sometime this month, if you see a homeless person on the street, give to them whatever you can. Whether its some change, a few dollars, or a meal, help those in need. Beloved, I promise it will come back to you. Good Karma is the best kind of karma.

Remember at times when it feels like no one is there for you, God is there for you. No matter what.
